Silver & Silverware
Dating back to primitive man silver has been referred to by many different names. The story of sterling silver started back in the 12th century as payment for cattle. Sterling was designated as a piece of silver that was 92.5% pure silver, with the remaining 7.5% composed of any other metal, typically copper, that adds strength and resilience.
Silver is often used in jewelry and flatware. Our shop has many examples of both. Our collection can be considered eclectic and is difficult to describe. The image to the right is a set of Japanese spoons from the early 1900’s.
